POV, you buy the potential house and bring your vision to life! Our living room makeover was the first big diy project that we did in our home. My husband and my dad built out the fireplace and we hired out the gas insert install (some things are best left to the professionals) and built ins were made by a friend from high school. What I wish I could’ve easily found online when building - an explanation of why cast stone fireplaces are such a great option! First off, what is cast stone? A cast stone fireplace is a durable, fire-resistant, and, often more affordable, alternative to natural stone, crafted from a mixture of mineral aggregates, cement, and pigments poured into molds to resemble limestone or marble. They are:
• customizable
• durable
• more affordable
• looks like natural stone

This living room needed a little love.
After removing the beams & changing the ceiling design, we went to work on updating the cabinets, shelves and fireplace.
Our clients are now happily cuddling up with their fireplace this winter.
